Jacob Temple, DNP, ANP-BC, NEA-BC, CENP
Senior Behavioral Health Consultant
Dr. Jacob Temple is a native of Florida with over 18 years of healthcare experience, with 14 of those years consisting of administrative oversight. His scholarly achievements include a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (Systems Leadership) from Rush University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Florida Southern College. In addition to his academic background, he is a Board-Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner, Board-Certified Nurse Executive (Advanced) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and is Certified in Executive Nursing Practice from the American Organization of Nursing Leadership (AONL). He was a former President of the Polk County Organization of Nurse Executives (PCONE).
Prior to joining MVP, Dr. Temple held numerous administrative positions, including Chief Hospital Officer (CHO) & Vice President/Hospital Administrator for various not-for-profit health systems whose work in Behavioral Health services (across the lifespan) led to being featured within the Advance for Nurses Journal. More specifically, his transformational leadership within the various organizations (Corporate Clinical Services/Behavioral Health) Distinct Part Units (DPUs), Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS), Crisis Stabilization Units (CSUs), Adult Short-term Residential Treatment Facilities (SRTs), Residential (Level I) & Outpatient facilities) involved: 1) obtaining licensure and receiving accreditation from various organizations including Joint Commission, Department of Children & Families (DCF), Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) & Commission of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), 2) successful immersion of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) platforms (EPIC, Cerner & Streamline), and 3) strategically lead the adoption, immersion, and enhancement of an Observation Compliance Safety program which involved an electronic patient monitoring software system.
Lastly, his organizational/committee work includes serving as/on: 1) a key member of design team for a 60 bed Behavioral Health complex & 96 bed Behavioral Health free standing facility, 2) a System of Care (SOC) Subcommittee Workgroup Deep End Services to report findings to the Legislative Subcommittee chaired by Secretary Harris of Florida, 3) the Inpatient Facilities committee for the Florida Behavioral Health Association (FBHA), and lastly 4) a member of the Polk County Advanced Practicing Nursing Association (PCAPNA); Previous presenter at the organization’s annual symposium.
