Dr. Angie Keys, M.S., PhD

Principal STRTP Consultant

Dr. Andralyn “Angie” Keys is an educator, counselor, behavioral health professional, consultant, and advocate whose career has been dedicated to creating pathways of healing, opportunity, and meaningful change for individuals and communities. With more than 15 years of experience in social services, behavioral health, and education, Dr. Keys has worked extensively with diverse and historically underserved populations, including foster youth, probation-involved youth, pregnant and parenting teens, individuals experiencing serious mental health challenges, and first- generation and disproportionately impacted college students.

Dr. Keys currently serves as an Adjunct Counselor and Instructor at Fresno City College, where her work centers on student success, culturally responsive counseling, equity, and creating educational environments in which students feel seen, supported, and empowered. Her approach to counseling and education emphasizes the importance of meeting individuals as human beings first, recognizing that meaningful support requires understanding the experiences, identities, challenges, and strengths they bring with them. In addition to her work in higher education, Dr. Keys serves as Principal STRTP Consultant with MVP Consulting Group, providing consultation and program development support to Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Programs and behavioral health organizations throughout California.

Her work includes program development, trauma-informed service delivery, mental health programming, regulatory compliance, clinical operations, and the development of systems designed to improve outcomes for youth with complex behavioral and emotional needs. Dr. Keys earned her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership from National University. Her doctoral research explored the perceptions and experiences of African American/Black male college students in California’s Central Valley regarding engagement with campus mental health services. Her research examined issues including stigma, access, trust, representation, culturally responsive care, coping, and the ways institutions can better support Black male students.

Her professional training includes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), EMDR DeTUR, Mental Health First Aid, and Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB). Across each area of her work, Dr. Keys brings together behavioral health, education, leadership, and
advocacy with a central belief: people thrive when they are provided not only with services, but with environments that recognize their humanity, strengths, experiences, and potential. As a speaker, educator, and practitioner, Dr. Keys challenges audiences to move beyond simply
providing support and toward creating systems and relationships that foster healing, belonging, resilience, empowerment, and lasting transformation.
