The recent Ohio legislative session established a critical requirement for community-based behavioral health services providers: national accreditation is now a prerequisite for obtaining or renewing certification through OhioMHAS.
Key Compliance Deadlines:
- If your agency attained OhioMHAS certification prior to October 3, 2023, you must obtain national accreditation before your first renewal certification on or after October 1, 2025.
- All new providers applying for initial certification must first attain national accreditation before applying for certification.
