Garry Walsh

Principal Ambulatory and Hospital Consultant

Garry has been a healthcare professional for 42 consecutive years. He became a patient care and healthcare safety advocate while devoting hands-on care to Radiation Oncology patients for almost a decade. He also guided the provision of safe and effective patient care while serving in the role of Administrative Director of several multidisciplinary cancer centers. It was during this time that he learned the complexities and importance of integrating excellent medical, technical and nursing care to deliver the best possible clinical outcome.

In 1988, Garry incorporated his first healthcare regulatory compliance assessment training firm, Health Technology Systems, Inc. (HTSI) in the State of Florida. Garry and his team of professional nurses and healthcare engineers have traveled 1.8 million miles visiting 39 states in our nation to collaborate with, educate, guide, and protect 1000’s of healthcare leaders and hospital staff in all matters relating to healthcare regulatory accreditation and compliance. His range of experience and competency includes high-priority survey targets such as the Environment of Care; Emergency Management; Human Resources; Infection Prevention; MR and Information Management; National Patient Safety Goals; Risk Management; as well as Quality and Performance Improvement. His experience has been called upon for:

  • New healthcare start-up facilities to help prepare the foundation for initial survey success;
  • Pre-survey preparation for existing facilities; and
  • Post-survey recovery for facilities challenged by negative survey findings.
Garry has helped prepare hundreds of hospitals and health systems to achieve compliance with either CMS regulations or Joint Commission accreditation requirements. Many are nationally renowned facilities, such as UCLA Health System, Cleveland Clinic, Princeton Healthcare System, Mayo Clinic, numerous VA and Military Hospitals, Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles-USC Medical Center, Dan Farber Cancer Institute, Bon Secours Health System, scores of hospitals owned/managed by HCA and Tenet Healthcare as well as Children’s Hospital Boston, the primary pediatric teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School.
