Angie Keys, M.S., PhD Scholar

Principal STRTP Consultant

Angie Keys brings over a decade of experience and expertise of Group Homes and Short Term Residential Therapeutic Programs (STRTPs/QRTPs). Angie’s experience includes providing case management and psychotherapy to a variety of populations, which include pregnant and parenting teens, probation youth, and dual diagnosis youth. Angie is passionate about assisting at-risk populations with developing positive coping skills to improve functioning within the community and reducing recidivism.
In 2019, Angie began to focus on quality assurance and compliance for group homes transitioning to STRTP’s in the state of California, as well as accreditation. With the new and innovative changes to the foster care system, Angie understood the need to ensure that providers were made aware of the new regulations for foster youth that promote Trauma Informed Care principles.
To date, Angie has led to the development of over 15 California based STRTPs. Angie works with our providers to write custom Program Statements, Plans of Operations and Mental Health Programs. Furthermore, Angie has recently led multiple accreditation projects leading to a full 3 year CARF accreditation.
Angie also provides training to providers, foster youth, and resource parents on development of age-appropriate interventions, understanding Trauma Informed Care principles, and harm-reduction programs. Angie has provided various trainings on working with CSEC youth, psychopharmacology, and reactive attachment disorder (RAD). Angie is also trained in EMDR (eye-movement desensitization reprocessing) and EMDR DeTUR.
Angie earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Riverside, where she also played volleyball. Angie graduated from the University of Phoenix with a master’s degree in marriage, family, and children’s counseling. Angie is now pursuing a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership at Grand Canyon University, with a focus on cognitive habits.
